T-Mobile Extends Unlimited High-Speed Data and Calling for Rio Paralympic Games

T-Mobile:

Through the close of the Paralympic Games on September 18, all T-Mobile Simple Choice postpaid customers automatically get unlimited high-speed data.  Wherever they go in Brazil, they’ll get the fastest available roaming speeds up to 4G LTE. And, calls within Brazil and back home to the US are free – as is texting worldwide.

The carrier had originally announced the program would run through the end of August, for those attending the 2016 Rio Olympics, but the extension of the program allows Paralympic fans to take advantage of it too.

In addition, the carrier is giving free service along with a Samsung Galaxy S7 edge and Samsung Gear 360 camera, to family members of Team USA. Family members of athletes headed to Brazil can learn more at www.t-mobile.com/brazil or contact RoamFreeInRio@t-mobile.com to get up to two smartphones and one 360 camera per athlete (while supplies last) activated with service ahead of the games.

“We are proud to support America’s finest in Rio and make it easier than ever for their families to share every moment of their experience!” said John Legere, president and CEO of T-Mobile.  “These athletes have trained hard and we want their families to stream, snap and share this historic experience without worrying about coming home to a ridiculous wireless phone bill.”

The new promotion is just the latest in a string of promotions the magenta carrier has announced. The carrier recently announced it would offer free unlimited data throughout Europe all summer and free unlimited data for playing Pokémon Go for an entire year.
