Apple Makes it Possible for Developers to Link to Their Apple TV Apps

Apple on Wednesday told developers that it is now possible to link directly to their Apple TV apps, making it easier for users to learn more about and to download their tvOS apps.

Apple Makes it Possible for Developers to Link to Their Apple TV Apps

Make it easier for customers to view your tvOS apps on the App Store for iPhone and iPad, and on the iTunes Store on Mac and PC with a direct link your app’s product page. Customers who have enabled their Apple TV to automatically install apps can download your app straight to Apple TV from their iOS device or computer. Simply get the link from iTunes Link Maker and use it when promoting your app.

By way of Link Maker, developers, and even app reviewers (YAY!) can link directly to Apple TV apps. This was not possible before. When clicking on a link, visitors will be able to view the app information on their computer or iOS device. They can then purchase the app, or initiate a download of a free app, and if Automatic App Download is enabled on their Apple TV, the app will automatically be downloaded to the Apple TV box, and will be installed, and ready for use the next time the user accesses their set-top box.
