Review: Nomad Leather Case for iPhone 6 Plus

If you’re like me, you want a case for your iPhone that not only protects it, but makes it look as good as possible. For me, that’s a leather case. I had the opportunity to try out the Nomad Leather Case for my iPhone 6s Plus, and let me tell you, for the price, I don’t think you’re going to find a more beautiful. protective leather case.

Overview

The Nomad Leather Case for iPhone, (they are also available for the iPhone 6/6s, iPhone 6/6s Plus, iPhone 7, and iPhone 7 Plus), is constructed of fine leather, which wraps the back and sides of the device, raising up a bit on the edges to protect the screen when it is laying face down. In addition, the interior of the case is covered in soft microfiber material, to protect the device from scratches.

Just like the Nomad Leather Strap for Apple Watch and the Nomad Leather Charging Wallet we reviewed awhile back, the Charging Wallet is handcrafted from Horween leather. Horween leather isn’t a marketing concept, like Chrysler’s “rich Corinthian leather,” but is instead made by a company founded in 1905, and is well known for offering a high-quality leather product that isn’t matched by many in the business. Let me tell you, this is some beautiful leather!

While some of the Nomad leather products can be priced a little on the high side, The Horween Leather Case is nicely priced at $39.95. (If you hurry, you can grab the Black Friday deal, and get it for $31.95, good through Cyber Monday.)

Like most leather cases of this type, the leather starts to quickly show signs of wear, and that is simply not a bad thing! I find the scuffs and such that begin to show on a leather case merely add to the character of the accessory, and improves its looks. I’ve been using my case for around 2 months, and it is showing signs of wear, which I love. (Heck, Nomad even includes a pic of a 3-month worn case on the accessory’s product page, as seen below.)

Review: Nomad Leather Case for iPhone 6 Plus

The case does a great job of protecting my device from scratches and such. While it won’t take a direct hit from a bullet, and may not be able to protect the iPhone’s screen from a hard drop to concrete, it has proven more than sufficient for my everyday abuse. I’ll be keeping the Nomad Leather Case on my iPhone well past this review.

Verdict

If you’re looking for a great quality leather case for your iPhone, but can’t swing the high prices of some leather cases, take a look at the Nomad Leather Case for iPhone. It is beautifully made, from great quality leather, and just gets better looking as it wears.
