The battle for unlimited data supremacy continues among the big four wireless providers, as AT&T has announced a change in its unlimited data offering. Starting Thursday, new and current AT&T customers will be able to choose from two new plans: Unlimited Plus and Unlimited Choice.
AT&T Unlimited Plus Plan
The Unlimited Plus plan starts at $90 per month for a single line, (after a $5 per month discount for AutoPay).
The plan includes:
- Unlimited Data, Talk and Text
- High-Definition Video – Plan includes Stream Saver. Stream video in HD quality, when available, with Stream Saver turned off.
- 10GB Mobile Hotspot – After 10GB, hotspot speed limited to max of 128Kbps for the rest of the bill cycle for eligible devices
- Our Fastest Speed – After 22GB of data usage, AT&T may slow speeds
- Save $25/mo. on DIRECTV and DIRECTV NOW
Two lines starts at $145 per month, and up to eight additional devices for $20 per month each. Pricing includes monthly access charges, but does not include taxes or additional fees. AutoPay and paperless billing are required.
AT&T Unlimited Choice
The Unlimited Choice plan starts at $60 per month for a single line,(after a $5 per month discount for AutoPay).
The plan includes:
- Unlimited Data, Talk and Text
- 3Mpbs Max Speed – After 22GB of data usage, AT&T may slow speeds.
- Standard-Definition Video – Video streamed at max of 1.5Mbps (about 480p)
Two lines starts at $115 per month, and up to eight additional devices can be added for $20 per month each. Pricing includes monthly access charges, but does not include taxes or additional fees. The plan requires AutoPay and paperless billing.
The carrier notes both plans allow individuals and businesses to make unlimited calls from the U.S. to Canada and Mexico. Users can also send unlimited texts to over 120 countries. Customers can also use their plans for talk, text, and data in Canada and Mexico with no roaming charges.
The new Unlimited Plus deal looks to be a better deal than AT&T’s recently announced unlimited plans, which started at $100 per month, with no tethering. As a comparison,Verizon Unlimited starts at $80 per month, Sprint Unlimited starts at $50 per month for a limited time, and T-Mobile’s ONE plan starts at $70 per month, all in, including taxes and fees.
