After cleverly being available exclusively via pop-up vending machines for the last few months, Snap has made Spectacles, its video-recording eyewear, available online for $129.99.
… Like in the vending machines, the Spectacles come in Coral, Black and Teal, and include a charging case and cable. At the time of writing, shipping estimates sit at a delivery time within the next 2-4 weeks.
Spectacles Pop-Up Vending Machines on Hiatus
The pop-up vending machines that were previously the only way of acquiring a pair of the funky video-capturing specs are currently on a hiatus. However, Snap says the machines will make a return to surprise locations around the United States after a brief “nap.”
Users can sync the Spectacles with the Snapchat mobile app, and then tap a button to record a ten-second video, which is then stored in the “Memories” section of the app. Users can then visit the clip and post it to their “Story” if they so desire.
Buyers should expect to wait 2 to 4 weeks for their Spectacles to ship. Purchases are limited to 6 pairs. Customers can also now buy a $49.99 charging case as well as a $9.99 charging cord from Snap.
