Feedback App for Beta Testers Has Reference to iPad ‘Drag and Drop’ Feature Just Ahead of iOS 11 Debut

Feedback App for Beta Testers Has Reference to iPad ‘Drag and Drop’ Feature Just Ahead of iOS 11 Debut

iOS 11 is set to debut later today at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference. Ahead of that debut, a “Split View/Drag and Drop” feature is listed in Apple’s own Feedback app for iOS beta testers.

MacRumors:

An entry alluding to “Split View/Drag and Drop” now appears in the app’s list of preset options that beta testers use to report issues. Since no such feature currently exists in iOS, it’s highly likely we can expect one to be unveiled in iOS 11, which Apple is set to preview in its keynote later today at the Worldwide Developers Conference.

A Drag and Drop feature would likely allow users to easily move content between supported apps, in place of the currently tedious method of using copy and paste, or the share menu in supported apps.

Better file management has long been a desire of numerous iOS users, so an iOS 11 version containing this feature should be warmly received by most users.

Apple kicks off their WWDC 2017 conference at 10AM Pacific/1PM Eastern time today, with a keynote where new versions of iOS, macOS, watchOS, and tvOS are expected to make their debut. The company is also expected to debut new hardware, including new MacBooks, iPads, and a Siri smart speaker called HomePod. Stay tuned.
