Apple Seeds iOS 11.4 Beta 2 to Developers

Apple today seeded the second beta of their iOS 11.4 update to developers. The beta of Apple’s upcoming mobile device operating system comes two weeks following the release of the first beta.

Registered developers can download iOS 11.4 beta 2 from the Apple Developer Center, or over-the-air directly to iOS devices that has the proper configuration profile installed.

Messages in iCloud

iOS 11.4 beta includes Messages in iCloud for testing and evaluation purposes. Messages will prompt users to turn on Messages in iCloud on first launch after upgrading to iOS 11.4 beta. Please note that Messages in iCloud is automatically enabled for users who have two-factor authentication and iCloud Backup enabled.

  • When streaming a video from the YouTube app via Airplay, audio might lag behind the video by 2-3 seconds. (36833829)

  • Clients of NSURLSessionStreamTask that use a non-secure connection fail to connect when an error occurs during PAC file evaluation and the system is configured for either Web Proxy Auto Discovery (WPAD) or Proxy Automatic Configuration (PAC). A PAC evaluation failure can occur when the PAC file contains invalid JavaScript or the HTTP host serving the PAC file is unreachable. Support for AirPlay 2 features once again show the Apple TV as available in the Home app. AirPlay 2 allows the same audio content to be played on multiple devices in multiple rooms.
