Display settings revealed in OS X Lion may indicate that Apple is prepping Lion for retina display in future releases of their Mac range. Advancements in display technology through HiDPI mode (High Dots Per Inch) may see a quadruple increase in the quality of future Mac displays.

Apple has seeded OS X Lion 10.7.2 to developers through their developer portal. The 10.7.2 release introduces iCloud functionality for Lion. No mention of 10.7.1. is made within the developer portal, indicating that it’s likely a minor update to the OS that we will see in the next few days / couple of weeks.

MG Siegler, of TechCrunch, has not only confirmed that Facebook is working on a Facebook app, he has also revealed it. It turns out that the upcoming Facebook app for iPad is actually hidden within the iPhone app – meaning it can be freely accessed and used before its public release.

Apple released a new iPad 2 advert in the last 24 hours that tells us how we will continue to share our lives but in a new and different way thanks to the iPad 2 and the apps it gives us. Apple even sneaked in a Lion reference and cunningly laid over the image with the voice over “Learn new things”. Very smart.

One of the cute new settings in OS X Lion is full-screen mode. It’s featured in many native apps such as Mail, Safari, and iTunes, but it’s not yet rolled out across the board in other apps. Maximizer is an Lion friendly that forces full-screen mode on applications that have yet to introduce it.

So you upgraded to Lion and your mouse is acting all weird? It’s moving in the opposite direction. Actually, it’s not. Apple wants you to change the way you scroll. In Lion, Apple decided to reverse the scrolling behavior of your mouse / trackpad. If you don’t like this new addition, you can switch back to a more familiar setup by visiting your System Preference options.

Not content with only releasing the most sought over operating system ever, a refresh to the Mac Mini and Macbook Air range, an update to the Cinema Display, and killing off the white Macbook, Apple have also updated Safari to version 5.1.

It finally looks like Apple has pulled the plug on the white Macbook. The last in line of the non-aluminum Macbook range, the Macbook was first introduced in 2006 and replaced the similarly designed iBook range.

Apple has just announced a refresh to their range of Mac Minis. Starting from $599, the new Minis have near double the processing power of the previous generation, thunderbolt, Sandy Bridge, HDMI output, and expandable storage and RAM.
