According to the good folks at 9to5Mac, the Verizon iPhone is more than meets the eye. Apparently the Verizon iPhone is based on the Qualcomm MDM6600 chip, which is dual-mode GSM and CDMA compatible. This is all great news, as it means that VZW iPhone users will be able to enjoy a more global iPhone experience, however it’s important to note that it still won’t be usable by folks tied to SIM cards. You’ll have to wait until iPhone 5 for that.
According to Engadget, a shelf tag describing a white 16GB AT&T iPhone has appeared at a Best Buy in Houston. According to the tag, the 16GB model will feature a price tag of $599 off contract, which is the same price as the black model is currently.

According to LA-Based online research firm uSamp, Android and Blackberry use on the Verizon network are about to take a massive hit due to the launch of the Verizon iPhone 4. In their study, uSamp asked 700 smartphone users on both the Verizon and AT&T networks whether they’d switch to the Verizon iPhone on February 10. The results were somewhat staggering.
