1. 1Password For Mac (AgileBits, $40) – 1Password is the premiere piece of software for keeping your private and sensitive data all at your fingertips, while also encrypting it to protect it from unwanted access. You can use it to store internet logins, credit card numbers, store memberships, bank account data, and almost anything else – it even integrates with Firefox, Chrome, and Safari to help you quickly fill-in forms!
2. GadgetTrak (ActivTrak Inc, $35) – GadgetTrak is an anti-theft solution for your Mac. It also protects your data, so if your laptop is ever stolen, GadgetTrak can lock down your data, track your laptop’s location, and even send you pictures of the person who stole it! It can also help you file a police report so that your laptop is returned to you as fast as possible, and the thief suffers the consequences.
3. DaisyDisk (Software Ambience, $20) – DaisyDisk is a creative graphical solution for showing what files are taking up the most space on your hard drive. It presents everything as an animated, interactive graph, making it a snap to pinpoint which programs or files are hogging your precious space.
4. Plants Vs. Zombies (Popcap, $20) – From PopCap Games, Plants vs. Zombies is a colorful, creative, and fun Mac game. Stop 26 types of zombies dead in their tracks with your arsenal of 49 zombie-zapping plants! Battle through 50 Adventure levels, 20 Mini-Games, plus Puzzle and Survival modes. 5. Skitch (Skitch Inc, $20) – Skitch might be one of the most useful apps I have ever used on my Mac – it lives in your Mac’s menu bar, and helps you easily snap and share pictures of anything on your Mac’s screen. You can also use it to quickly draw on, scribble on, or annotate the images before sharing.
6. Clocks (StudioDalton, $2) – Clocks is a quiet and simple app – It places a clock-shaped icon in your menu bar that, when you click it, displays the current time in a variety of different locations. You can customize your list of locations, so that you always know what time it is around the world.
7. RapidWeaver (RealMac Software, $60) – RapidWeaver is an extremely power yet simple web design tool – it places a ton of beautiful pre-made templates in front of you that you can use to create your own web site all without having to write any code yourself, and supports hosting your website on many popular hosts.
8. Sparrow (Sparrow SAS, $10) – Sparrow is a thin and minimal desktop email client intended to replace Mail.app – it has a very small footprint, runs and operates very quickly, and supports many different types of webmail accounts. It’s strength, however, is in using it with Gmail, as it natively supports Gmail’s folder structure, flagging and filtering options.
9. Capo (SuperMegaUltraGroovy, $50)– If you are into music, especially guitar, Capo is an indispensable app for you. Simply drag a song from your iTunes library and it can analyze it, slow it down, speed it up, and tell you which chords are sounding at any specific moment. In short, it might be the best and easiest way to learn any of your iTunes songs on the guitar.
10. Fantastical (Flexibits, $20) – Fantastical is a new calendar app from Flexibits that’s designed to increase the speed and efficiency of using iCal (or other calendar apps) on your Mac. It hangs out in your menu bar, and shows the current month’s calendar, as well as all the day’s events at a single glance. Further, just double-tapping on any date on the calendar lets you quickly and easily add an event to iCal.
11. FX Studio Photo Pro (Macphun, $40) – The highly anticipated newest member of the FX Photo Studio family, FX Photo Studio for Mac brings a brand new image processing experience to the Mac OS.
