Samsung, apparently taking the “WAH!” legal approach, has accused Apple of calling expert witnesses that exhibit “slavish adoration” to the company during the continuing patent trial between the two electronics giants. Samsung says Apple’s experts have “cast aside established scientific methods and governing legal principles in favor of slavish adoration of their client…”

Big happenings today in the court case between Apple and Samsung. The big boys are sitting down in San Francisco to hash things out, as Apple Chief Executive Officer Tim Cook, and Samsung CEO Choi Gee-sung try to work out a settlement that the lawyers have yet to achieve.

Delaware courts have have called for delegates from HTC and Apple to meet on August 28 to talk about settling the patent dispute that has blocked the U.S. import of some HTC handsets. This appears to be fallout from the pending lawsuit Apple brought against HTC through the International Trade Commission over a “data tapping” patent. Apple has been ordered into similar settlement talks with Samsung.

A Morgan Stanley analyst said this week that if Apple were to launch a full-fledged television set, it could cause total average annual household spending on Apple products in the U.S. to double to $888 by 2015.

Analysis firm Gartner has revealed that not only has Apple established itself as the number one smartphone vendor of Q4 of 2011 and 2011 as a whole, it has also overtaken LG as the third biggest seller of mobile devices with 89 million units sold for 2011.

China Mobile revealed on Wednesday that it is in negotiations with Apple to bring the iPhone to its network. Chairman Xi Guohua said during a shareholders meeting, I can’t give you too many details, but I’d like to repeat that both sides do hope to boost our cooperation.”
