Apple Reportedly Doubling Production for Popular Macbook Models

According to a report from DigiTimes, Apple may be doubling their initial production for certain “hot-selling” MacBook models. The report claims that Apple’s Asian manufacturing partners have seen orders for popular MacBook models as much as double, while shipments of notebooks to other brand-name vendors have failed to meet expectations.

The report goes on to make a number of further claims, however the real essence of the report is that while other makers of notebook computers are seeing declining sales, the opposite is true of Apple, who is in fact ramping up production in response to extremely successful sales.


MacBook Pro Refresh Only Slightly Delayed By Sandy Bridge

Good News, Everyone! According to a report from AppleInsider, the actual delays caused to the MacBook Pro refresh by the faulty Sandy Bridge chipsets should be quite minor. In fact, their source claims that it should only delay the refresh by about two weeks.

Also according to the report, one person familiar with the matter told AppleInsider that some, but not all, of the upcoming MacBook Pro models were effected by the delay. According to this source, Apple elected to make minor tweaks to the logic boards of the affected models, but the actual changes would translate to an actual delay of less than two weeks.
