UberMedia Buy TweetDeck For $25-$30 Million

Popular cross platform Twitter client TweetDeck has been bought by UberMedia, according to TechCrunch. The fee is believed to be between $25m and $30m.

UberMedia will add TweetDeck to their arsenal of Twitter clients that also includes Echofon and UberTwitter. Clearly they have their sights set on being top dog in the Twitter client sphere.

According to a report from TwitStats, TweetDeck is the 2nd most popular Twitter client after Twitter’s official apps with just under 10% of the market. However, according to Seesmic CEO Loic Le Meur the merger means UberMedia will control approximately 20% of all tweets.

TweetDeck is available for Mac & PC, iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, Android, and Chrome.
