Apple Store Is Down But iPad 2 May Not Ship for 2 To 4 Weeks

The Apple Store is down in anticipation of the upcoming iPad 2 announcement. This likely means that you will be order an iPad 2 today.

Nothing unusual with that.

However, Cult of Mac (via iLounge) is reporting that shipments of the iPad 2 may not be ready for another 2, or maybe even 4 weeks!

iLounge is claiming there are further inventory issues that will prevent the iPad 2 from immediately shipping.

A source informed Jermey Horwitz from iLounge of the possible inventory issue:

Unless Apple has a huge surprise up its sleeve, or wants to report rapid sell-outs of very modest initial inventory, the next iPad should not ship for a minimum of two weeks, and more likely four. We’ll know for sure a few hours from now.
