Did Apple Send A Covert Opp Into The Jailbreak Community?

Jailbreak developer Comex has a sneaky suspicion that Apple may have deployed spies, or possibly even coaxed an existing Jailbreaker to act as a rat, as Apple battles it out with Jailbreakers to prevent their iOS platform from becoming exploited.

The hacker behind JailbreakMe 2 and Spirit believes that it is too much of a coincidence that Apple patched an exploit in iOS 4.3.1 that they were just about to use as a doorway to Jailbreak the recently released iOS 4.3.1.

The exploit in question has existed as far back as iOS 4.0.2 and remained unpatched until the release of iOS 4.3.1. So why the sudden patch? It could be that a developer within Apple spotted the exploit, or, if Comex paranoia is legitimate, Apple have gone all Jason Bourne over the Jailbreak community and have a spy within the community relaying intel back to Apple in an effort to disrupt Jailbreakers.

Tinfoil hat time!
