iPad 2 Announced: Shipping From 11th March!

Steve Jobs took to the stage and today announced the iPad 2. Here is a run down of some of the key points with regards to the iPad 2:

  • iPad 2 in both black and white
  • Front and rear facing cameras
  • Built in gyroscope
  • 33% thinner
  • Lighter, from 1.5lbs to 1.3lbs
  • Dual Core Processor, A5 chip
  • CPU is now twice as fast as iPad 1
  • Graphics are nine times as fast as iPad 1
  • Prices in line with iPad 1
  • HDMI out cable
  • Same 10 hour battery life as before
  • Leather and Polyurethane cases that become stands available
  • Starts at $499 (16GB), ends at $829 (64GB + 3GS)
  • Shipping 11th March in US
  • Shipping 25th to 26 further countries including UK, Canada, Australia, Ireland, Germany…
