Apple Poach Two Gaming PR Executives From Nintendo & Activision

Apple has made two very welcome, and very focused, additions to the team in the shape of Rob Saunders (formerly Nintendo) and Nick Grange (formerly Activision) who will both shortly be joining Apple.

MCV reports..

Apple has poached not one but two of the games industry’s best PR execs – with Activision’s Nick Grange set to join Nintendo’s Rob Saunders at the manufacturer.

Rob Saunders (pictured right), Nintendo’s former head of PR, will fill a newly created position at Apple where it is expected that he will oversee the PR for all iOS apps. While at Nintendo, Saunders played a key role in the success of the Wii and DS.

Nick Grange (pictured left), Activision Europe’s PR director will apparently focus exclusively on iPad hardware. Grange has previously worked for EA and Microsoft in the games sector.

Apple’s mobile devices, especially the iPad and iPod Touch, have become legitimate contenders in the games arena with many opting for an iPad or iPod Touch over devices from gaming stalwarts such as Nintendo and Sony.

Neither Saunders or Grange have been confirmed as new hires by Apple.
