Apple Sues Samsung for Intellectual Property Violations

Apple has filed a suit against Samsung in California’s Northern District Court specifically naming the Galaxy S 4G, Epic 4G, Nexus S and Galaxy Tab as being in violation of their intellectual property rights.

The Wall Street Journal reports

Rather than innovate and develop its own technology and a unique Samsung style for its smart phone products and computer tablets, Samsung chose to copy Apple’s technology, user interface and innovative style in these infringing products,” the lawsuit said.

I doubt this means Apple is too worried about competition at this stage. Unfortunately, this is the way the world works. If you don’t defend your intellectual property, your ideas are at risk of becoming diluted and devalued.

John Gruber points out that the Nexus S phone is pure, unadulterated Google Android. Interesting. Is this an underhanded way to go after Google as well?
