"It shocking what what some will do to guard the latest Apple gadgets."

Because if the store manager was working for Acer, the guard (hero in my opinion) would have just let them kill him?

What a stupid line on a report about something so serious.

    1. Jeremy,

Be nice! Your critique is as ignorant as it is uncalled for. What James was trying to convey is that it is shocking how low people will sink in their quest to gain material possessions. He said "Apple", but logically, the statement has the same implied meaning no matter which company he would have inserted – or no company at all.

The fact that you picked such a nit-picky and meaningless statement, and emphasized it to make it sound much more negative than it really is, might say a lot about you.

In short, what's the point of making such a negative comment when all it really boils down to is a difference in writing style?

Not trying to be down on you or anything, but please consider what the author might be trying to say before spinning it into something negative and then trashing it.

He was talking about the guard, not the intruders. The line was to written for the purpose of inserting a joke at the end of a blog post. And it's of my opinion, that a story about someone dying, is not one that in good taste, should end with a joke.

        J. Glenn that was pure nonsense you spewed

  2. dOM says:

You shouldn't shoot someone in the head for stealing computers from a rich company.

    1. Jeremy says:

you also should not shot at a guard, who is protecting a human being from armed intruders.

Why is the guard someone the bad guy in this senario?

      1. I understand, my friend. Thanks for your comments.

    2. That's exactly what I was trying to convey. @Glenn thanks for the defense.

That boy is crazy and I just got out of jail for robbing an apple store too

  5. James Britton jamesbritton says:

Let me set the record straight. I was trying to convey the point that it is shocking someone had to die for stealing gadgets. I don't intend to debate gun control on an Apple new site, but it is disturbing that a private security guard is armed. My perspective is different after having lived in Ireland for 4 years – a country where not even the police are armed.

Despite what some of you are accusing, the last line was OBVIOUSLY not a joke and this story is very serious. It's just a disturbing world in which we live knowing the desperate measures some will take to rob, as well as prevent a robbery. Nobody should have to die for stealing.

    1. Jeremy says:

Well, just to add perspective, if the guard was not armed, he (and most likely the store manager) would be dead.

The man did not die for steeling gadgets. He died for attempting to take the life of another human being.

  6. David says:

Why not? The guard was doing his job! Robbers should not ever have the feeling they can get away with robbing anyone or anything! Furthermore they were carrying weapons so they were prepared to use them. Good riddens!

  7. Shandooga says:

I don't see anyone stealing Zunes.

  8. SigMan says:

Great shooting. Too bad you didn’t kill the other two as well. One less scumbag in this country!
