Best Buy In Trouble With Apple For Holding Back iPad 2 Supply – Rumor

CrunchGear is reporting of a possible rift between Apple and Best Buy over how Best Buy sell iPad 2s, or rather, how they don’t sell iPad 2s.

According to an employee at the electronics retailer, Best Buy had quantities of iPad 2s in stock but refused to sell them to customers because Best Buy had already hit their sales quota for the day. It was Best Buy’s way of managing their stock so that they could avoid massive sales in one week and then have poor sales for the next week.

Apple’s retaliation? According to CrunchGear, Apple are opting not to ship any further iPad 2s to Best Buy for the time being.

What was Best Buy thinking? Sure, whatever stock of iPad 2s they have will eventually sell out because of demand but why not let it all out in one go if the demand is there? And why try and mess with Apple for the sake of balancing sales quotas and having organized sales spreadsheets?

The only thing it has resulted in is a frustrating experience for customers.
