GarageBand Updated To Use iPad Projects

Ever since GarageBand for iPad was unveiled, many have wondered just how it might work with GarageBand for Mac. Apple has now answered this question by issuing a Garageband update via Software Update allowing you to import projects created on the iPad.

The update weighs in at a mere 47MB, and is available immediately via Software Update, or via a standalone installer from Apple’s downloads site. If you don’t already have it, you can get GarageBand for the iPad here ($4.99, App Store).

From the release notes:

This update improves overall stability and addresses a number of minor issues, including the following:

  • Support for opening projects imported from GarageBand for iPad. This update is recommended for all GarageBand ’11 users.
