Illinois Representative, Jesse Jackson Jr, let it all out in a technophobic rant about how the “iPad probably responsible for eliminating thousands of american jobs”, and how it is responsible for bookstores such as Borders and Barnes & Noble closing their doors due to lack of sales. As Mr Jackson explained, “why do you need to go to barnes and noble, just buy an ipad and download your book, download your newspaper, download you magazine”.
Jesse Jackson Jr. for some reason focused on the iPad in his tirade but isn’t the Kindle the main source for downloading eBooks and newsletters? Why did Amazon get a pass? I suppose logic doesn’t come into play much when you’re ranting.
Jackson went on to say that the Chinese are taking advantage of American’s first amendment right, the right of free speech, by providing freedom of speech through the popularity of the iPad.
