PopCap Games Launches New Boutique Game Studio

The guys that brought you Plants vs. Zombies are coming down the market several notches and building a "sandbox" studio to foster niche mobile games called 4th & Battery.

PopCap explains:

4th & Battery is a new label we’re using to bring some of our more experimental ideas to customers. It’s a way to lift some of our internal filters and let us stretch our creative legs a little. Expect 4th & Battery games to be a little off the beaten path compared to what you might expect from PopCap.

Their first game Unpleasant Horse is coming soon. Until then, check out the teaser trailer and post your thoughts. Off the beaten path, indeed. I'm intrigued.

James first bit into Apple when his mom and dad bought an Apple IIe in 1986. He switched to Wintel in the mid 90s when Apple was in a tailspin and back again to an iBook in 2005 when things were looking brighter. Hopefully there is no turning back to the dark side now.
