MacHeist’s New iOS Game “The Heist” Topples Angry Birds, Offers Free Steam Download

A new game from MacHeist – the good folks famous for their MacHeist software bundles – has done the unthinkable, toppling Angry Birds as the sop-selling app in the App Store. And if you conquer the game, you’re said to receive a free game download code for Steam.

According to the developers, The Heist sold over 25,000 copies in about half a day – enough to give them the top spot for the day’s sales, although they still have a long ways to go if they want to beat Angry Birds in cumulative sales. They are, however, well on their way.

The game is puzzle-based, centric to the spy world, and full of exciting missions. In the game, your goal is to solve 60 different puzzles in order to unlock a secret vault that will let you access the latest MacHeist bundle, as well as a code for a game that is available for Steam for Mac and PC (nobody has yet found what that game is yet, to my knowledge).

The game features 4 different types of challenging and addictive puzzles, as well as full Came Center integration, with a total of 19 possible achievements. The Heist is a very well done app. It’s graphically pleasing and has a few surprises from the moment you open the app. I won’t ruin the surprise.

The Heist costs just $0.99 and is available from the App Store.
