Apple To Build Its First Hong Kong Retail Store

Apple is planning to build its first ever Apple Retail Store in Hong Kong this fall. The new building will be a massive two-story location that will serve as the latest major shop at the high-status International Finance Center Mall.

According to MIC Gadget, Apple is planning to spend more than $20 million just in construction costs, and a further $100 million for a 10-year lease agreement on the 15,000 square foot space, which will occupy two floors on the mall’s east side.

The shop is reportedly scheduled to open in September, and will employ more than 300 employees, who will in turn collectively serve an estimated 300,000 customers on a daily basis, which is about 4 times the service volume of an average Apple Store in the US.

Apple is said to currently be recruiting employees for the new store, but is facing a challenge with finding enough qualified individuals in the area, as all the qualified ones are either rich, or already employed elsewhere for higher pay. As such, Apple will reportedly be flying in some of the personell for the new store.
