Apple Working To Make iCal Location-Aware

CultofMac is reporting that Apple is indeed working to add location and travel information to iCal alarms – a feature that would make notifications that much slicker, possibly providing gaining the ability to tell you when you’ll need to leave to get to an appointment on time.

Also according to their source, the system will account for current and predicted traffic conditions, transit schedules, and weather, adjusting travel time accordingly. Apparently Apple has been toying with this idea for some time, and is just now becoming ready to implement it. The source cautioned that the system is experimental — and may or may not make it into future versions of iOS.

I’m definitely ready for this, and for me, this could not come soon enough. Your thoughts? Sound off in the comments!
