iOS Jailbreaker Who Developed New Notification System Now Has a Gig at Apple

Apple has hired iPhone hacker, Peter Hajas, presumably for his work on MobileNotifier, a refreshing update to the painfully annoying notification system iOS currently offers.

Hajas confirmed his new gig at Apple via Twitter, which has since been deleted:

@brittaahh I’m glad you like it! I’ll see what I can do 🙂 I will be back for a few weeks, then I’m off to work in CA at a “fruit” company.

Apparently he “loves working and living in California” since his relationship with Apple started about a month ago.

MobileNotifier has a popover style alert that allows the user to continue phone interaction, unlike the current state of affairs. It also has an “alerts dashboard” for management of all notifications. This is a big improvement which allows the user to “park” notifications to address later.

Check out the video for a peek at what may be the underpinnings of a new notification system in iOS 5.

James first bit into Apple when his mom and dad bought an Apple IIe in 1986. He switched to Wintel in the mid 90s when Apple was in a tailspin and back again to an iBook in 2005 when things were looking brighter. Hopefully there is no turning back to the dark side now.
