Apple Updates International iTunes Pricing

Following up on our previous report that Apple’s iTunes Connect maintenance might be involve Apple balancing out international content pricing, I can now confirm that this has happened, and the changes are now live.

Among the pricing changes are that prices for UK apps are now higher (£.69 per US dollar versus £.59). and prices in the Australian iTunes Store are now lower as well – the price of Angry Birds dropped from $1.19 down to $0.99, and the pricing of iPhoto for Mac dropped from $17.99 down to $15.99.

While the new pricing still isn’t entirely in line with exchange rates, it’s certainly a step in the right direction, and certainly better for Australian iTunes content consumers.

Other price changes in international stores are as follows:

Japan: 115 -> 85 Yen
Mexico: $10 -> $12
Switzerland: 1.10Fr -> 1.00Fr
Norway: 6.00Kr -> 7.00Kr

We’ll detail more changes as we discover them.
