Lion & New Macbook Airs Expected For 13th Of July

Pencil in July 13th (next Wednesday) in your diary because numerous signals point to this date as been D-Day for the much anticipated arrival of Mac OS X Lion.

It is said that Apple have informed their retail staff that work in Apple Stores to prepare for ‘overnights’ on July 13th. Overnights is where Apple undertake in-store refreshes and update displays for new products. While OS X Lion is not one of the new products that will be sold in-store as it’s only available through the Mac App Store, the product in question is expected to be a refreshed Macbook Air.

Apple have put off releasing a refresh to their Macbook Air range until OS X Lion hit the shops. It is expected that the new Macbook Airs will include low voltage Sandy Bridge CPUs, Thunderbolt, HD Facetime, and possibly a backlit keyboard.

While we have no info about the pricing of the new Macbook Airs, it is known since WWDC in June that OS X Lion will cost $29.
