Want Multiple User Accounts On Your iPad? There’s A Cydia Hack For That!

Have you ever wished your iPad could support multiple user accounts, just like your Mac does? Pedro Franceschi agrees – that’s why he developed a jailbreak hack that enables exactly that!

The new hack, called iUsers, creates separate user accounts for several different users on a single iPad, and each account can have their own separate apps, mailboxes, and even settings.

As you can see from the above video, iUsers seems to work pretty well if you discount the fact that switching users requires a reboot. Still, considering that rebooting the iPad 2 takes less than a minute, that’s not much of a concern.

What is a concern, however, is that until Apple supports an official solution for this, the user accounts and their settings will not sync with iTunes, and won’t be easily restorable if you have to replace your iPad or update your firmware. Still, some progress is better than none, right? Perhaps this will get Apple to take notice that people want this?

If you’d like to try iUsers for yourself, just add http://cydia.iblogeek.com/ as a source in Cydia and search for iUsers.
