Mac OS X Lion: Destroyer Of Galaxies

Many of you have no doubt admired Apple’s new wallpaper of the Andromeda galaxy found in OS X Lion. As it turns out, all it not as it seems with that image – apparently Apple has not only wiped out a few stars, but removed an entire galaxy from the picture!

The difference was noticed by physics professor David Kaplan from the University of Wisconsin, who quickly spread the word about his findings. As Kaplan states:

Apple has once again altered the Universe according to their whim. They moved/removed many stars, and got rid of a whole galaxy. This is M110, which is one of M31′s [Andromeda’s] satellites. The other big satellite, M32, is still there.

Kaplan seems surprised at the prospect that Apple might alter the cosmos – perhaps he hasn’t noticed their massive stockpile of cash? Personally, I’m gonna side with Cult of Mac on this one: Apple, led by Darth Steve, is building a Death Star!
