41% Of Mobile Users Intend To Upgrade To The iPhone 5

A new study published today by InMobi suggests that 41% of all current mobile device users in the United States, Canada and Mexico plan on upgrading to the iPhone 5, shedding additional light on consumer anticipation for Apple’s next-gen handset.

Although these numbers are already promising (and perhaps a bit optimistic), it’s likely that consumer demand will rise next week when Apple unveils their next-gen iPhone hardware on October 4th.

Unsurprisingly, the study also finds that if Apple only introduces an iPhone 4S-like upgrade, then only 15% of current mobile users would plan on making the switch, suggesting that it would be in Apple’s best consumer interest to release a redesigned iPhone next month.
