Earlier this week Apple released ProApps QuickTime Codecs 1.0, updating the codecs for a number of video formats used across the company’s pro apps, particularly their recently release Final Cut Pro X, Motion 5, and Compressor 4 titles.
The update is a tiny 992KB download, is freely available from Apple’s support page or through Software Update, and adds the following video codecs for QuickTime-based apps: Apple Intermediate Codec, Apple ProRes, AVC-Intra, DVCPRO HD, HDV, XDCAM HD / EX / HD422, MPEG IMX, Uncompressed 4:2:2
