Fake Apple Stores In New York Agree To Forfeit Merchandise

Following our previous report about two New York retail stores selling counterfeit Apple products, a new report from Reuters now confirms that Apple has reached an agreement with these retailers, and that they will be forfeiting their Apple-related merchandise to Apple.

Both stores have agreed to willingly hand over everything in stock containing the word “Apple” or any of Apple’s trademarks, although they still contend that they have not actually violated any of those trademarks.

If US District Court Judge Kiyo Matsumoto approves the agreement, the stores will have five days to surrender the merchandise to Apple. One of the stores, Apple Story, has also agreed to change their name as part of the settlement.
