iTunes U Surpasses 600 Million Downloads

Apple’s popular educational portal, iTunes U, has just surpassed 600 million downloads since it first launched 4 years ago. This milestone suggests a significant recent pickup in activity, as iTunes U reached 300 million downloads just one year ago.

The fact that iTunes U has achieved 300 million downloads in just the past year is pretty staggering, showing that people are really taking an interest in using the free education resources that it makes available.

iTunes U currently has content from over 1000 universities, including notable sources like Harvard, MIT, Cambridge and Oxford.
