Mac Exceeds Ten Percent Global Usage Share

Apple’s successful release of OS X Lion and continued consumer demand for the update have propelled the Mac’s real-world usage share over 10%, reports Chitika Insights, showing an increase of just over a full percent in a single month.

The Mac grew from a 9.6% share for real usage to just over 10.6% from August to September on continued strong sales of OS X Lion, causing a 0.6 percent decrease in Windows usage, which rests at 77.7 percent.

Chitika’s data isn’t a reflection of market share, which demonstrates what customers are buying, but rather shows actual real-world platform usage over time and across various geographic areas.
