Report: AppleCare Prepares For Possible iOS 5 & iCloud Launch On October 10th

There has been a lot of speculation regarding when Apple’s iOS 5 (and the iPhone 5) will be released. A new report from AppleInsider suggests that both of these could launch on October 10th, as AppleCare expects an influx of tech support inquiries on that day.

According to the report, Apple has informed AppleCare to expect a significant influx of iOS-related calls and inquiries beginning on Monday, October 10th. This could very likely signal that Apple plans to release iOS 5 to existing device owners on the 10th.

It’s also possible that Apple is planning to launch the iPhone 5 during the week of October 10th. For instance, Apple released iOS 3.0 (then called “iPhone Software”) on June 17, 2009, two days prior to the launch of the iPhone 3GS, and Apple released iOS 4 on June 21, 2010, three days before the iPhone 4’s Thursday launch.

While this information cannot be independently verified, it does seem extremely plausible, so keep your eye’s open on OCtober 10th – we’ll be sure to report a release as soon as we become aware of it.
