Adobe Releases Flash Player 11, Adobe Air 3

Following a report from last month announcing new software updates, Electronista reports that Adobe has released Flash Player 11 and Adobe Air 3 for the Mac. The new apps are expected to deliver improved 3D graphics (which Adobe says will bring console-quality gaming), and up to 1,000 times the performance of Flash Player 10.

The new Flash Player update includes Adobe’s new “Stage3D” graphics rendering, which improves both 2D and 3D rendering. Flash Play 11 also brings native 64-bit support to the Mac for the first time ever.

AIR 3 comes with a number of new extensions that improve its app packaging options, allowing developers to package AIR 3 with Android, iOS, Mac, or Windows apps with no need to install any runtime or extra software.

Both packages can be downloaded immediately from Adobe’s download page.
