First In Line At NYC Apple Store Turns Down $1500 For Her Spot

The first two people in line at Apple’s flagship New York City store turned down an offer of $1500 for their spots in line, reports Mashable, stating “It’s not about the money, it’s now about the phone, it’s about the experience.”

The two early birds have been close friends for several years, and have each worked in promotions and marketing. The pair has been camping out at the store for 17 days, using trash bags to stay dry, and using Zipcars parked along the street to catch a few hours of sleep.

Mellow and Thompson have They’ve been recording their experiences on Twitter and iphonewhatever.com.
