75% of Apple Stores Sold Out of iPhone 4S on Black Friday

The iPhone 4S was so popular on Black Friday that it sold out in 75% of Apple’s retail stores, reports Apple Insider. iPad sales were also up 68% compared to last year’s Black Friday. This is certainly good news for Apple, especially considering that this year’s Black Friday was their highest selling day ever.

At AT&T stores, it was also found that 50% were sold out of iPhones as they struggled to meet demand. Lack of supply also occurred at Verizon while Sprint claimed to have had adequate stock to meet the demand.

Apple replenished their retail stock the next day, however, so by then only 30% were out of stock. Apple easily exceeded their sale predictions of 4x the norm, and this just shows how incredibly popular Apple is, especially during the holiday period.
