Apple Set for Huge Growth in China

Apple’s market share in China is set to increase from 5% to 21% in the near future, according to Fortune. The results of a survey by Alphawise revealed that 21% of Chinese consumers stated that their next computer would be an Apple, and this ranks well ahead of other companies such as Beijing-based Lenovo.

According to IDC, China recently overtook the U.S as the world’s largest consumer of personal computers, so Apple will be delighted to have a foothold in what is a very lucrative market. The survey also revealed that half plan to buy a new computer in the next two years, and they expect to spend 6% more for it (than the average $600 they normally pay).

1533 consumers spread across 16 cities took part in the survey, so this gives it a fair amount of credibility. Other companies such as HP and Dell kept the same market share, but they must be worried about a possible Apple-dominated China.
