Clone Developer Announces MacBook Air Clone

It seems as though everyone is interested in copying Apple these days. As a report from Electronista reveals, Chinese clone manufacturer Shenzhen Technology has developed a clone of the MacBook Air that may draw lawsuits from Apple.

While while this clone is visually similar the MacBook Air, this copycat contains inferior technology, for instance it does not feature the currently Apple-only Thunderbolt port (it’s replaced by an HDMI port), the case is made of “metallic material”, and the processor in the clone is the Atom N2800 processor.

This information comes from a post on the website “Made in China.” The notebook specs are: Atom N2800 processor, 32nm processing, 1.86GHz, dual-core with four threads, Intel 3600 demonstration core, 2GB memory, 32G SSD hard disk, 1366×768 resolution and 4100mAh battery. It will support 1080P video playback.

Shenzhen Technology is said to be shipping the system in November and the price is estimated to be $471. I suppose that when it comes to copying Apple’s products, it’s what’s on the inside that counts.
