iPhone Now Accounts For Over 10% Of All U.S. Cell Phones

Results from conScore’s recently released survey of U.S. mobile phone usage indicate that Apple has just reached a tremendous milestone, and has attained more than a 10% share of the U.S. mobile phone market.

The survey shows that Apple continues to lead all other major phone manufacturers in growth between June and September, having grown by 1.3 percent to reach 10.2% of the U.S. mobile phone market.

In addition, the data also reveals actual smartphone market share, showing that Apple has taken up 27.4% of the total market, but trails Android, which has captured 44.8% of the market, and gained more share than Apple during that period.

Its important to remember, however, that the survey period ends just before Apple’s release of the iPhone 4S, and the lowering of prices on both the iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4.
