Apple Highlights ‘Apps for Shopping’ (Just in Time for Black Friday!)

Just in time for Black Friday, Apple has begun featuring “Apps for Shopping” in it’s App Store. Featured apps include those for use at specific retailers, (including of course, the Apple Store app), apps to help control your gift list and get the best price on gifts, and even an app to help you find a restroom while shopping.

The “Shops” apps include those from Walmart, Target, Amazon, QVC, Macys, and eBay. Etsy, Zappos, Lowe’s and Home Depot are also included. The apps, in most cases, allow you to check pricing and availability, place orders online, and also find brick and mortar locations when available.

The “Tools” section includes apps to allow you to keep track of your gift list, check-off who you’ve bought for, and view who you still need to pick up gifts for. Apps also allow you to compare prices, read reviews, and get advice on what to get for that hard-to-buy-for person on your list.

The “At the Mall” apps include “car parking” apps that allow you to mark where you parked your car, and help you find it at the end of your busy shopping day. Others help you navigate through Westfield and Simon malls, find your way through airports, and most importantly (especially for those with children in tow), where to find the nearest restrooms and changing stations.

MacTrast wants to help you get the most out of your time and save some of your hard earned money during this holiday shopping season, so I’ll be reviewing the best of these apps later this week. Happy Holidays, and good shopping!
