iTunes now allows users to de-authorise individual devices associated with your Apple ID.

You will notice that now users are able to manually remove a single device. In the past users have been restricted to de-authorising all devices in order to add new devices. For example, if I sold my Mac I would need to de-authorise all devices from the account ID before I could add a new Mac if I ran out of available authorisations.

This new way allows users after 90 days of authorising a device to then remove the associated device from their account.
