BBC iPlayer Comes to the iPhone

Anglophiles rejoice! BBC’s iPlayer app (free, App Store link) has finally come to the iPhone and iPod touch in a new universal version, allowing you to carry the popular subscription-based streaming service in an all-new pocket-sized format.

In addition to coming to the iPhone, the updated app will also feature a new selection of content, including Black Books, Father Ted, Shameless and more.

Note: iPlayer is still not available in the U.S., but BBC is continuing to expand the service to further regions at a fairly rapid pace.

BBC iPlayer for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch is available now as a free download from the App Store (free, App Store link).
