Gardner: iPad 3 to Launch in February, Retina Display and All

Rumors regarding Apple’s next-gen iPad have been anything but scarce, with release rumors ranging through the first half of next year. But according to a note to investors from Citi analyst Richard Gardner, reports Business Insider, they’re all wrong – the next iPad will actually launch in February, Retina display and all.

Gardner cites “several sources” for his claim, and claims that there are no longer any “significant technical hurdles” preventing the February launch, although reports suggesting that manufacturers are struggling to make enough Retina displays beg to differ.

While prior rumors have suggested an early-2012 launch for the iPad 3, Gardner’s claimed February release date is the earliest I’ve seen to date.
