iStation Dock Turns Your iPad Into An Old Apple I

There aren’t many people around who can claim they’ve ever owned an original Apple I, but if you have an iPad and some extra cash, you can own the next best thing. M.I.C. Gadget has released the iStation – a desktop stand and dock for the iPad designed to look similar to Apple’s first computer.

In addition to looking pretty awesome (though I’m not convinced it looks like an Apple I), the iStation also works as a charging dock and a 2.1 channel speaker system.

The Apple I shipped as a set of circuit boards that you had to build your own case for, and most original owners chose to build their case out of wood. In that same idea, the iStation is also made to look like wood, and features a Bluetooth keyboard mounted on the front with function keys to control music playback, volume, and slideshow mode of the iPad.

Whether or not you think this looks like an Apple I, it does look pretty cool. But for $86, I’m not sure it’s really worth jumping up to buy one. For more info, or to purchase, head on over to M.I.C. Gadget.
