Most Small Businesses Plan to Adopt the iPad in 2012

Even though Apple already declared 2011 to be the Year of the iPad 2, 2012 is set to become an amazing year for the iPad as well.  According to the latest data from NPD, nearly three fourths of small business are planning on adopting tablets next year, with the iPad topping the list of likely candidates.

Among businesses with fewer than 1000 employees, 73% are planning to make use of tablets, up five percent from last quarter, reports CNN Tech Fortune, with small businesses planing to spend an average of around $21,000 on the devices,

According to a statement from NPD analyst Stephen Baker, “Businesses of all sizes appear to be determined to capitalize on the tablet phenomenon. The iPad, just as it is in the consumer market, is synonymous for ‘tablet’ in the business market.”

Even more notable, a whopping 89% of businesses with between 501-999 employees plan to spend an average of $39,000 on tablets. That’s a lot of business, and a whole lot of tablets (again, mostly iPads) for small business over the next year!

Now that the iPad has thoroughly swept the consumer market, it seems that there’s little doubt that the same will be true of the business market.
