Verizon Experiencing Another Data Outage

Verizon is experience yet another widespread data outage affecting the New York and Chicago areas, and possibly additional areas as well, reports The Verge.

This follows reports of another major Verizon outage from earlier this month, and in general speaks badly of Verizon’s ability to keep their network running properly.

The issue is apparently only affecting LTE data, leaving another black mark on the carrier’s rollout of the new 4G service. From Verizon’s statement to The Verge:

We are investigating reports of some customers experiencing trouble accessing the 4G LTE network. The network itself continues to operate and all customers continue to be able to make calls, send text messages and utilize data services. 3G devices are operating normally.
